A Sense of Arrival with the Countryside Council for Wales

An innovative project to use the Arts to explain the significance of National Nature Reserves in Wales

the Countryside Council for Wales logoThis project focuses attention on the significance of National Nature Reserves by creating a 'sense of arrival' through sculptural installations.

The sculptures play an important part in interpreting the reserves for the public and in promoting a wildlife experience for visitors.

The project has engaged local communities in ways that help them to develop a sense of ownership of the site and an understanding of its value to the locality

Creu-ad has managed the whole project, which involved:

  • developing the interpretive concept or concepts for each site
  • producing initial designs, working with community groups
  • engaging artists for workshops, making the final artworks and
  • undertaking financial and administrative responsibility.
