Current projects: Interpret Pen Dinas and Tan-y-Bwlchwith Ceredigion County Council This project will help a community near Aberystwyth, mid-Wales, explore the appeal of its local nature reserve. It will introduce a significant number of people, especially young people, to the local nature reserve and involve them in:
Creu-ad was invited to write an interpretive plan for the reserve and suggest ways of implementing it. In Stage One - 2003/4 - the Pen Dinas and Tanybwlch Support Group and various groups in the nearby Penparcau community were involved. Stage Two - 2005 - The Creative Trail is an event planned during Biodiversity Action Week (June 11-19) when artworks made in the community workshops will be temporarily displayed around the reserve. Some of these will be made from waste and recycled materials in order to raise awareness about limiting the amount of waste materials that we produce - the old landfill site holds tons of waste deposited over the years. Stage Three - 2006 - Begins the process of developing a previous landfill site on the reserve as an interpretive land artwork and as an attractive and useful amenity for local people and visitors. To date the project has been funded by Communities First Ceredigion and WCVA Enfys Green Spaces Fund. |
